How can pro­gram­mers work togeth­er to reduce the car­bon foot­print of their tours ?

The trans­porta­tion of peo­ple and goods, as orga­nized and car­ried out today, accounts for over 30% of green­house gas emis­sions in France. Reduc­ing this impact is there­fore a major chal­lenge for the per­form­ing arts and music indus­tries. Although far low­er than the car­bon foot­print of audi­ence mobil­i­ty, artist mobil­i­ty nev­er­the­less rep­re­sents a major decar­boniza­tion chal­lenge. Above all, it’s an issue on which pro­fes­sion­als, and pro­gram­mers in par­tic­u­lar, can have a very sig­nif­i­cant and above all very direct influ­ence : by coor­di­nat­ing to orga­nize coher­ent (or “rea­soned”) tours, the car­bon impact linked to artist mobil­i­ty will be reduced. How can pro­gram­mers work togeth­er to reduce the car­bon foot­print of tours ? What changes in prac­tice and/or pro­fes­sion­al pos­ture does this imply ? What can the “CooProg Musiques Actuelles” solu­tion offer as a tool, or even a lever, for this coop­er­a­tion ?
