In order to improve coop­er­a­tion between music pro­fes­sion­als on the con­ti­nent (and beyond), the work­ing group that brings togeth­er Zone Franche mem­bers on the African con­ti­nent quick­ly iden­ti­fied the need to iden­ti­fy and locate the lat­ter.

So the idea of cre­at­ing a direc­to­ry of African music pro­fes­sion­als quick­ly took hold. Even­tu­al­ly, it could be extend­ed to oth­er con­ti­nents. With the help of Zone Franche’s African mem­bers and part­ners, we have drawn up this ques­tion­naire, which is intend­ed to be dis­trib­uted.

In doing so, we can’t avoid the his­tor­i­cal ref­er­ence to the work done by Zone Franche in the 90s with the “SANS VISA” guide, which list­ed over 12,000 pro­fes­sion­als from all over the world, plus in-depth arti­cles on the music of var­i­ous coun­tries.
